...Love Letters, Tea Dresses, and the 1940s..

Although the 1940s were a difficult time with war, separation and rations,- the love letters and fashion we attribute to that time make it feel so much more of a romantic era. It was a time where women were feminine and even in a time of war found a way to look simply incredible. This fall season the tea dresses, ankle straps, prints, and peter pan collars of the 40s have all made reappearances on the runway from designers like Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton,... and we couldn't be happier.

ASOS Bird Print 40's Tea Dress - $87.80

The 1940s silhouette was semi form fitting and hit below the knee /midi, a combination that when paired with heals created an incredible figure flattering look, that was kept interesting with collars, accessories and prints.. I especially love the bird prints.
You can wear any of these looks with colored tights all through the winter or pair it with a shearling jacket or camel colored coat.
Have a lovely day everyone!
